Top 5 Ways To Conserve Water in Thousand Oaks

Local winter storms haven’t restored water reserve levels and Southern California continues to face significant water supply challenges in 2010 and beyond. It is critical that we all contribute to resolving this crisis. That is why I wanted to share with you my top 5 water conservation guidelines for the City of Thousand Oaks residents. Did you know:

  1. Watering is prohibited between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
  2. Watering duration is limited to no more than fifteen minutes per day per station
  3. No excessive water flow or runoff is permitted
  4. No washing down hard or paved surfaces
  5. Washing vehicles, other than at commercial car wash facilities, must be done with a self-closing shut off nozzle on the hose
