4th of July Fun in Thousand Oaks

Wondering what to do on the 4th of July? No need to deal with beach traffic; there will be tons of fun things to do in Thousand Oaks!

Thousand Oaks 4th of July Pancake Breakfast – Hosted by Conejo Parks and Recreation. Time: 8am– 11am. Borchard Community Center, 190 Reino Road, Newbury Park. $3 for adults, $2 for children and seniors. For information, call 381-2791.

Thousand Oaks 4th of July Home Run Derby  – Each batter is given 10 outs and attempts to hit as many over the fence as possible. Awards are given to 1st - 3rd place winners. Borchard Community Park Field #2 in Newbury Park. Competition categories include Men's Masters, Men's Open, and Women's Open. Registration from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Fee is $5. Thousand Oaks 4th of July Senior Home Run Derby - The Senior Home Run Derby, for people 50 and older, will be at Field No. 1, Borchard, Newbury Park. Registration: 8:30 to 9 a.m. Competition: 9 to 11 a.m. Fee is $4 per person. For information, call 381-2744.

Thousand Oaks 4th of July Family Open Swim – Free swimming from 12 – 4 pm at the Thousand Oaks High School pool and Newbury Park High School pool. For information, call 495-4674.

Thousand Oaks 4th of July Concert in the Park – Free concert, featuring the Conejo Pops Orchestra at Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks. Starts at 5 p.m. For additional information, call 381-1247 or 495-2163.

Thousand Oaks 4th of July Fireworks – Free Fireworks Show at 9pm. Tip: The best viewing is from the Janss Marketplace and The Oaks shopping center parking lots. Sponsored by the Park District and the City of Thousand Oaks, with support from the Conejo Valley Fireworks Committee. For additional information, call 381-1247.
